Versión 2.8.9 — Final Launch
Today is a special day.
More precisely, today is a very special day for Avilon.
Almost two years ago, the journey of creating Avilon began — a project made by players and for players.
Throughout this path, there have been many challenges. There were moments when I seriously considered giving up, but with patience, persistence, and dedication, today the final build of this project has finally arrived.
From this point forward, and at least for now, Avilon will no longer receive new features.
However, it may still receive occasional bug-fix patches when necessary — but nothing beyond that.
On a personal level, this project has been a huge challenge for me.
As some of you know, I had no prior knowledge of software development when I started. My experience was mostly focused on web development, and even that was limited.
Today means a lot to me because it represents something very important:
despite all the problems during development,
despite the many project restarts,
despite not knowing what Avilon would eventually become,
I completed it.
So yes — you can probably imagine the huge smile on my face today.
Now, you might be wondering what my next project will be.
Honestly, that is a very good question.
While it’s likely that I’ll take some time to rest and mentally disconnect after Avilon’s development, I do have another idea in mind: a project called Nexon Warfare, a mobile shooter game. For now, it exists only as an idea in my head, I'm really looking forward to this project happening.
I will probably also focus more on photography, which is another hobby I truly enjoy and that I’ve neglected a bit lately.
So this is where the development of Avilon comes to an end.
I hope you are all doing well, I wish you a Merry Christmas, and I truly hope that 2026 will be a great year for all of us.
A big hug, and thank you for everything.
Gabriel Gimenez

- In the game's presentation window, the date it was added has been added to show.
- The possibility of making ports for Linux and Mac has been considered, and although the possibility for Mac has been ruled out, there is a possibility that there will be a version for Linux, although the date on which it will be available is unknown.
- Errors have been corrected in some translations of the available languages.
